Our Spring-Loaded Bayonet Ribbon Thermocouples are designed to improve accuracy on in-wall temperature measurements. A conventional spring-loaded bayonet type thermocouples has large inherent errors, especially in shallow-depth applications. These errors are due to the conduction of heat, along the thermocouple sheath.
These ribbon bayonet thermocouples eliminate errors by using an exposed ribbon thermal junction at the sensing tip which is always in intimate contact with the bottom of the blind hole. Because of this specially designed sensing tip, these thermocouples eliminate errors caused by gradient and conduction along the thermowell.
