A dramatic innovation in thermocouple design, the patented Self-Renewing Thermocouple provides temperature data never before available. This innovative design puts the thermocouple junction exactly at the 2-dimensional end surface of the probe. It can be machined to most any shape, erode or wear away up to 1/2 inch during the process and continuously renew it’s own junction while being eroded. Response times are in the very low millisecond range and designed to measure temperatures at the surface of a wall or chamber.
These thermocouples are made with stainless steel housings. The useful range of the thermocouple element inside may exceed the melting point of stainless steel (2,550 degrees Fahrenheit). Therefore, we suggest you contact one of our engineers with the unique details and use for temperatures expected to be above this range.
